@Kailyeh Professional poker players have discipline and only play a small percentage of their bankroll at a time so they do not go broke.

    7. But Dean what if my bankroll is strong enough to withstand the highs of poker.

    8. Lol i suggest you learn how to play poker before you quit your job.

    9. @Kailyeh That because your playing your cards, poker is about weighing your win loss ratio and using tactics at the right moment. Lets say the pot is 1500 and you half to bet 150 to continue in the pot. Now since your only risking a 1/10 of the pot to win the pot you only half to have 10% chances of winning to have good win loss ratio. I doesnt matter if you dont win cause by playing those odds in the long run you end up winning. You just need to know when to backdown and play soild.

    10. @Kailyeh That is where bankroll management comes in take a seat noob.

    11. @muzikteacherandfan01 You only won 2 out of five?

    12. muzikteacherandfan01

I told my friend that I taught my dog how to play cards. my friend said “wow! that’s one smart dog!” I said “he’s not that smart, I beat him 2 out of 5 games”

    13. @Kailyeh wow u are a pussy

@Kailyeh Son i have played the game and i know what this guy is saying is true, PATIENCE, TIGHT IS RIGHT!!
If u want to win in poker play tight and trap players for their money. This is a very tough thing to do and this is why most players never go pro is because they dont even know if their playing the game right mathematically or for that matter logically. Believe me, play tight poker to have a much less risk of losing money as u are playing premiem hands. Especially for newer players.

    15. @ahhgrobble I’ve played poker since the age of 14, both lost and won an upstanding amount of cash. And I am three years older then you, kid. I know poker, else I wouldn’t express myself in the topic.

    16. @Kailyeh That’s why you practice good bankroll management kid.

    18. money doesnt matter to ivey. he is able to play his best whenever he wants. its doesnt matter. to the average player. money means a lot to them. thats why BRM is so important. u have to be able to take the losses and stay in action.

    19. @mickymacky02 If poker is all about volume and luck, then anybody should be able to consistently win as much as phil ivey, if they play at the same volume?

    20. @dannyoo2

if anything you’re a nit looking to break down his semantics to try and find a stupid flaw in something.

    21. i didnt have a bankroll when i started.. lol.. i got started bcuz i had no other means of making money. dont quit ur job. u should feel blessed to have a job. just play like u are now but set aside the money strictly for poker. that way ur not spending ur money for bills and things. if u win, set aside all the money u had planned for poker. expenses and poker expenses should be seperate. good luck and remember, ur not good at poker. its all about volume and luck.

@mickymacky02dude ive played alot of poker. it seems like everytime i go to the casino i win, but i just spend the money stupidly cuz i just look at it as free money so whatever. but ive really been thinking of quitting my job and going pro. how much was your bankroll when you first started like the first week you went pro?do i even have a chance out there?

    23. one thing this guy forgot to mention is you have to have a passion for the game and you must have card sense to have a chance, poker has been my profession for 7 years now and i have read very little on the game. after degening through a few donkaments and winning 5.4k, twice, i have since figured out bankroll managment and learned to play much slower and have done much better. now a bad beat doesnt hurt so bad. i feel i am on a much higher level than most of my opponents. gl to all the donk pro

    24. These guys try to convince people like you to play poker so they can take your money. Bring your bankroll!

Play it often, getting some experience, then if you become good enough, earning a good amount, still keep your job. Only quit when you are financially sound, and winning player with a positive EV. Not many people can boast this, as it’ actually quite rare.
