9988 is a shit hand in hi/lo….vulnerable to better set, straight, and flush. At best youre splitting. Just don’t play it lol..unless youre in the big blind and flop quads….

@Johnicle2
Sometimes there are less than 3 low cards so there is a chance that one high hand will win the entire pot -

he said to win the lo half of the pot. I take that to mean you are an underdog to win the lo half when there are 2 low cards on the flop. Only a dog because if no lo comes then that lo half just gets added to the hi half meaning it’s still possible to win that half. I understand both viewpoints on playing 9988 but personally I don’t play it unless double suited because it’s still a speculative hi hand that needs a lot of help. I don’t think tight aggressive o h/l really includes this hand often.

did he really say that 9988 is an underdog to win the lo?! really?! If you have 9988 you CAN’T win the lo. but lucky for about 60% of pots there IS NO lo. I completely disagree with this guys theory. for 1, even with a good lo hand you won’t always make it. even with a good lo hand, half the pot will often be split more than one way (making you lose simultaneously with winning). the only way to guarantee good pots is to play the hi first lo second.

ok here is omaha hilo to my understanding, im a rookie at this so i might be wrong. its like 8 and 9 r lowest cards. Ace and 2 are highest, and theyre equal. then king 3 is equal etc. so if ure playing low, all cards must be 8 and below, and ud say 2 high not 8 high.

a low hand is from 1-8. 9 doesn’t work
