Bellande is right, until Hellmuth puts his cards in the muck, even if he says he is folding, the hand is still alive. Hellmuth being the person who bets has to show his cards or muck them. Bellande cant win the pot until Hellmuth acts.

personally i think the guy is right. phil folded then there’s no need to show the hand. even one may show and if the guy believes he has nothing or a lower pair then he can still fold without showing his cards. showing hands is obligatory when one is all in. i’m not pro in poker but personally i think if one folds, there’ll be no need to show the cards. but everyone has a different opinion.

Whatever point the two were trying to make doesn’t matter. By the rules of the game, the bettor flips first. If instead the bettor mucks, the caller still has to show or else it is a chopped pot by both players playing just the board.

Middle-aged men arguing over something as trivial as a card-game. That’s America for you!

phil is right the player who gets called can opt to fold and forfiet the hand.

both are wrong…. the bettor is supposed to flip his hand up first and of course bellande needs to show his hand to win the pot

Bellande is wrong here…He HAS to show his hand to win the pot…if both hands go into the muck, both players play the board… = split pot. Hellmuth is right here.
